Missoula Marathon 2026 weekend is here. If you're running, volunteering, or spectating — here's the complete schedule, start times, and everything you need to know about Montana's biggest race weekend.
Over 3,000 runners are registered, and downtown Missoula transforms into race central starting Friday evening.

Friday, June 26 • Runner Expo & Packet Pickup - Downtown Missoula (3:00 PM – 8:00 PM) • Beer Run (Free event) - Evening
Saturday, June 27 • Tony Banovich 5K - Start: 8:00 AM • Kids Marathon - Start: 10:00 AM • Runner Expo continues - 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sunday, June 28 • Missoula Marathon - Start: 6:00 AM • Missoula Half Marathon - Start: 7:00 AM
The full marathon is a point-to-point course — runners start in the countryside and finish in historic downtown Missoula at Caras Park. The course is USATF certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The half marathon also finishes downtown after a scenic 13.1-mile route through Missoula.
What You Need to Know
For Runners
Packet Pickup: Don't wait until Saturday. The Runner Expo is busiest Friday from opening through 6:00 PM. Plan extra time or come early Saturday morning.
Parking: Downtown is always busy on weekends. The marathon offers shuttle service from Adams Center parking lot. Friday shuttle runs 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Saturday shuttle runs 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Street parking is free after 5:00 PM Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Course: The full marathon is described as "flat and fast" with one notable hill at the halfway point. It's a point-to-point route through scenic countryside before finishing downtown. The course is USATF certified and sanctioned as a Boston Qualifier.
For Spectators
Best viewing spots are along the downtown finish area near Caras Park. The first marathon runners typically finish around 8:30-9:00 AM, with the bulk of finishers arriving between 9:00 AM and noon.
Bring signs, noise makers, and energy — Missoula is known for incredible crowd support along the course.
