Vibrant, Cozy and Fun Bars

Missoula, Montana, is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, offering a diverse array of bars that cater to every taste. Whether you're seeking a cozy dive bar, a lively music venue, or a spot with an extensive beer selection, Missoula's bar scene has something for everyone.

The Rhino stands out with its impressive lineup of over 50 beers on tap, making it a haven for beer enthusiasts. This local favorite also boasts an extensive collection of single-malt Scotches and offers free pool and shuffleboard on Sundays, providing a relaxed atmosphere for patrons.

For those who appreciate live entertainment, The Badlander is a must-visit. Known for hosting a variety of live music events, this venue has become a cornerstone of Missoula's music scene, attracting both local and touring artists.

If you're in the mood for a classic Irish pub experience, theThomas Meagher Bar offers a warm ambiance with a selection of traditional pub fare and a lengthy whiskey list. It's a great spot to unwind with friends over a hearty meal and a drink.

For a taste of local history, the Silver Dollar Bar is the longest-running family-owned and operated bar in the state. Located on Missoula's only remaining brick-paved street, Railroad Street, this cash-only establishment offers a nostalgic atmosphere that transports patrons back in time.

Beer aficionados should not miss Draught Works Brewery. Located in the "Good Hood" just west of downtown, Draught Works offers a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of award-winning brews, live music, local art, and eclectic events year-round.

For those seeking a unique experience, GILD serves their locally brewed beers alongside ciders and wines, complemented by Mexican-inspired drinking food. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a casual evening with friends.

Missoula's bar scene is ever-evolving, with new establishments adding to the city's rich tapestry. In October 2023, the Tap Club opened its doors on North Reserve Street. This gastropub offers 37 beers on tap, a selection of wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, along with in-house smoked meats and freshly baked bread.

Another recent addition is the Liquid Planet Grille on Brooks Street, which opened in January 2024. This establishment features a new menu, extended hours, and is expected to serve alcohol, providing a fresh option for both breakfast and evening outings.

For those interested in a unique beverage experience, Sacred Ally's Cacao Bar celebrated its grand opening in December 2024. Located at 130 East Broadway Street, this establishment offers ceremonial-grade cacaos from Peru, Guatemala, and Colombia, providing a relaxing and sacred space to enjoy this high-frequency elixir.

As you explore Missoula's diverse bar scene, it's important to acknowledge the rich cultural heritage of the land. Destination Missoula and the Missoula Tourism Business Improvement District recognize and honor the Indigenous peoples who are the original stewards of the land we now live, work, and recreate on. We are in the aboriginal territories of the Séliš (Salish), Ksanka (Kootenai), and Ql̓ispé (Kalispel) people, and we honor the path they have always shown us in caring for this place for the generations to come.

Whether you're a local or a visitor, Missoula's bars offer a welcoming atmosphere and a taste of the city's unique character. From historic establishments to new ventures, there's always something new to discover in Missoula's vibrant nightlife.
